Andrew Farkas

Andrew Farkas is founder and CEO of Anubis Advisors, a subsidiary company of Island Capital Group, LLC. Farkas founded Island Capital Group (ICG) in May 2003 and currently serves as CEO, Chairman and Managing Member. ICG is a real estate merchant banking firm, headquartered in New York City. They specialize in real estate, derivatives, real estate securities, management and servicing. Other portfolio companies of Island Capital Group include C-III Capital Partners, Island Funds and Island Global Yachting. Together, the portfolio companies own or manage real estate oriented assets and operating businesses, such as CMBS, CDOs, whole assets, and whole loans that are valued at approximately $150 billion.
In 1990, prior to Island Capital Group, Andrew Farkas developed a real estate services company called Insignia Financial Group, Inc. He served as its Chairman and CEO. By 1998, Insignia was the leading owner and operator of multifamily real estate and one of the largest owners and operators of commercial space in the US. By 2003, Insignia became one of the top three most prominent commercial real estate services firms in the world. Insignia had an influential presence in the United States, France and the UK. That same year, Insignia merged with CB Richard Ellis. The two companies’ partnership became the largest commercial real estate services company in the world.
Farkas is known for his involvement in The Fresh Air Fund, NARAL, ASPCA, AMFAR and several other health, welfare and education oriented charities. He is married with four children and lives in New York City.
