Andrew Farkas
Andrew Farkas is founder and CEO of Anubis Advisors, a subsidiary company of Island Capital Group, LLC. Farkas founded Island Capital Group in May 2003 and currently serves as CEO, Chairman and Managing Member. Island Capital Group is a real estate merchant banking firm specializing in real estate, real estate securities, derivatives, servicing and management. Other portfolio companies of Island Capital Group include C-III Capital Partners, Island Funds and Island Global Yachting. Together, the portfolio companies own and/or manage approximately $150 billion in assets that include CDOs, CMBS, whole assets, whole loans, and other real estate oriented assets and operating businesses.
Prior to Island Capital Group, Andrew Farkas founded Insignia Financial Group, Inc., a global real estate services in company, in 1990. He served as its Chairman and CEO. By 1998, Insignia had become the largest owner and operator of multifamily real estate and among the largest owners and operators of commercial space in the United States. By 2003, Insignia had become among the top three leading commercial real estate services firms in the world with a dominant presence in the United States, the UK and France. That same year, Insignia merged with CB Richard Ellis to form the world’s largest commercial real estate services company.
Andrew Farkas is involved in The Fresh Air Fund, ASPCA, AMFAR, NARAL and several other health, welfare and education oriented charities. He is married with three children and lives in New York City.
